Makes 8-10 Servings
Macros: 335 cal, fat 9g, carbs 25g, protein 44g, fibre 1g
Ingredients:
5-7 lb sugar free boneless ham (if ham has a bone, you will need 8-10lb ham)
3 Tbsp dried rubbed sage
4 cloves garlic, peeled
1/2 Tbsp whole fennel seed
1 Tbsp whole anise seed
1/2 tsp dried Thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup maple syrup
Directions:
preheat oven to 450 degrees
combine sage, garlic, fennel, anise, thyme, salt and maple syrup in a small blender or mini food processor. Blend until a thick puree forms.
optionally, you can wrap the ham in plastic wrap, place in your fridge, and let it marinate for a few hours or overnight
place ham on a roasting pan and cover with seasoning (its easiest to do with your and, so plant on getting goopy). Stick your meat thermometer in the deepest part of the meat, but not against the bone if your hams as a bone.
place in oven and set time for 15 minutes. when the timer goes off, turn the oven down to 300 degrees. Continue cooking for about 2 more hours, or until internal temperature reaches 150-155 degrees. Let it rest 10 minutes before you cut into it.
